FlagTower 


In order to optimise the running of FlagTower titles the following changes may be required.

DOS

Running defrag on your hard disk may help performance 

Run MEMMAKER 

Ensure that MSCDEX is loaded prior to SMARTDRV in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file

Ensure that MSCDEX Sector Buffer are set  to 16
	Example: C:\DOS\MSCDEX /D:MSCD001 /M:16

Ensure SMARTDRV.EXE has the parameter 512 set
	Example: C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE 512 512

Ensure SMARTDRV.EXE CD-ROM Caching is disabled by adding the /U parameter to the Smartdrv line of the Autoexec.bat file
	Example: C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE 512 512 /U


WINDOWS 3.1

Verify that Windows is using a Permanent swap file which is approximately 20MB

32-bit disk access ON


WINDOWS 3.11

Verify that Windows is using a Permanent swap file which is approximately 20MB

32-bit disk access ON

32-bit file access OFF

Virtual memory cache size is 128K
